Screen Art & Printer Art

Computer graphics and printed images only approximate each other. In addition, monitors vary from one manufacturer to the next, graphics settings are customized to individual taste, and ambient light affects the perception of both screen and print images. If you compare my art prints side-by-side with their screen representations, I can almost guarantee that the two will differ. When I compare them, my art prints have more saturated colors, deeper tones, and more graphic impact than their flat-screen, LED versions. Also, they have considerably more detail than images seen on this website. Here, rectangular gallery images are reduced to 440 x 550 pixels. The files I print from have many times that resolution.

Lighting

Because of their rich colors, depth of details, and dark backgrounds, my images benefit from good lighting. Bright, indirect, natural light is ideal but standard home lighting works quite well too. Full-spectrum lighting does make an obvious, visible difference but its use is not critical.
